Summer Lunches Program Instructions

Did we say thank you? Well, if we did...we certainly cannot thank you enough. So, thank you, again for taking time out of your busy schedule, to volunteer for our Summer Lunches Program. We appreciate you!
Summer is a special time for us at AWTN. While our name might suggest we “warm the nights," we do much more than that!
In the summer, we fill a vital need of meals for 4 weeks, while our neighbors at Friends of Saint Andrews temporarily closes their daily lunches for inventory and renovations.
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Number of Lunches & Beverages: 100 - 120 individuals is our typical daily flow. We have one residential-size refrigerator if you need to keep items cooled. Please provide plates, beverages, napkins, utensils, and/or condiments (if applicable).
Arrival Time: Arrive at our office at 1544 Elmira Street, Aurora, CO 80010 by 11:00AM to set up. We will be serving lunches at the City Park across the street.
Parking: Please park in the lot behind the building or street parking in front of our office.
Volunteers: Please provide at least four (4) volunteers from 11:00-12:30 for set up, handing out lunches & cleaning up after meals.
Please have each member of your team (including yourself) fill out our online Volunteer Registration and Waiver form here. Waivers are good for the year so you need not fill out a new one if you have volunteered this year for this event.
Lunch Ideas: Feel free to be creative!
Order pizza & bring chips or granola bars; Provide sack lunch of sandwich (pbj, turkey,etc.), chips & soft fruit; Use our grill and cook hamburgers or hotdogs outside.
